Zeishan Quadri’s Meeruthiya Gangsters seems to share a rather strange connection with Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur. Zeishan’s directorial debut has several of the GOW cast and crew, take on different roles and that too behind the camera. While Zeishan himself was the writer-actor in GOW, Anurag Kashyap who was the film’s director is now on board of Meeruthiya Gangsters as its editor.
Aakash Dahiya, who was also associated with GOW as the casting director plays one of the leads in Meeruthiya. The only one who seems to be connected to both the films without a switch in roles is actor Jaideep Ahlawat.
The actor who played a central character in the Anurag Kashyap will now be seen playing one of the main protagonists in Meeruthiya Gangsters. With the director, writer, casting director and actors all coming together again albeit in different roles altogether, it does look like it’s GOW reloaded with a twist, what say Zeishan?
