'Dhuan Dhuan', a new song from Bhopal A Prayer for Rain by Swanand Kirkire is out now

The makers of ‘Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain’ (see our review here) have released the video of their brand new song titled, Dhuan Dhuan. The song has been sung, composed, and written by the talented singer, Swanand Kirkirewho has won the National Film Award for Best Lyrics twice in the past!  The video features clips from the film, which showcases the gas tragedy that occurred in Bhopal on December 1984.  The disaster is considered one of the worst industrial disasters in the world.  On December 2nd and 3rd, at the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) pesticide plant in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the plant began to leak. Over 500,000 people were exposed to methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas and other chemicals. The toxic substance made its way in and around the shanty towns located near the plant killing several people.

‘Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain’, directed by Ravi Kumar and produced by Sahara Movie Studios and Rising Star Entertainment released in India on 5th Dec, 2014, exactly 30 years after the tragedy occurred.
