Bollywood What's Happenin'

The stars of Gori Tere Pyaar Mein talk about the movie

Imran Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Anumpam Kher star in Dharma’s next production, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. The romantic comedy is set to release November 22nd, but before the release check out these interviews of the stars as they tell us about all the behind the scenes action!

Check out what Imran Khan had to say about the flick!

Q: Where did you shoot on set?

Imran Khan: A lot of the shots were on site. We shot recently in Bhuj in Gujarat, which was a very interesting experience. I was excited to head there as I have never been to Bhuj before. I never had a chance to visit that set, so I went there and I saw the place they’d actually shot.

Q: What were your thoughts about not being allowed to curse in this film?

Imran Khan: I believe we should not curse at all and I’ve always tried to avoid cursing in all of my films, that’s why in ‘Delhi Belly’ we tried to cut out as many swear words as we could.

Q: For your last film there were reports that you were not okay with the aggressive promotions for it. So in this film would you have any particular consideration for this promotion?

Imran Khan: Considerations? No absolutely not, when I work with Dharma Productions I know I can just leave everything in Karan’s hands and everything will be looked after.

Q: Tell us about your character in GTPM?

Imran Khan: You have ‘Sriram’, my character, who is a very selfish, self involved guy; he doesn’t care about anyone other than himself. He wants to have fun, he is a bit of a party boy and opposites attract each other when it comes to Sriram and Dia.

Q: Was your character comfortable in the village?

Imran Khan: No, but it is the classic scenario, he turns out to be a city boy and says ‘what’s this place?’, ‘It’s dirty!’, ‘It smells bad what is this?’

Q: How was shooting Dhat Teri Ki in Bangalore?

Imran Khan: Yeah, it was great, I actually grew up in Bangalore, I went to school there and Punit has never been there. So by the time we ended up in Bangalore ready to shoot, I got to tell Punit all about my favourite places, where we should shoot, what location etc…and I got to re-visit all my favourite places, all the places I used to hang out with my friends.

Q: Why should people come and watch this film?

Imran Khan: It’s fun, it really is. Punit as a director wants people to have fun whilst watching his film and he has delivered on that.

Kareena Kapoor - Gori Tere Pyaar Mein

Kareena Kapoor also had a lot to say about her role, check it out!

Q: Are you excited about your lead role?

Kareena Kapoor: I am very excited about my role and I’m expecting the trailer of the movie will be well received by both critics and the audience.

Q: Tell us a bit about your character?

Kareena Kapoor: Her name is ‘Dia’, she works for an NGO; she’s basically someone who always stands for a cause, fights for a cause. She’s the sort that doesn’t believe… well she believes in love but she wants someone to stand up for her. She believes in what she believes in, which Imran Khan’s character is clearly not, as you see in the trailer. Dia is very determined, she’s quite grounded and sorted in her approach in life, she’s always ready to be out there. She even believes it’s her responsibility to clean up the entire nation.

Q: Are you similar to the character? Was it hard to act it out?

Kareena Kapoor: No, it was fun playing the part. I don’t feel like I have the responsibility to clean up the streets, I would like that to have happened but it’s not like I took that route. But it was fun to do the role, as it’s a city based character as well as being from the village, where I was very comfortable being in the village.

Q: What excited you the most about the shoots?

Kareena Kapoor: Well actually what excited me the most was that we were going to be shooting in a village. I don’t think I have ever done a film where actually I go to a village. So that part excited me a lot.

Q: What do you think of director Punit?

Kareena Kapoor: Well…He is young and fresh and he came up with a good idea!

Q: Tell us a little about the film.

Kareena Kapoor: Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is a really fun and accessible film, the last film I shot with Imran Khan, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu was a fantastic experience but the film was a little more serious, this film is for the masses. We have three to four item songs that I think everyone will enjoy, I sat and watched the trailer with my husband and we both think it looks great.

Q: Would you say this is the best movie you’ve starred in?

Kareena Kapoor: I think every film is good in its own way. You can’t really pick and choose one, it’s unfair as everybody is putting a lot of effort into every movie, and everybody works towards a film wanting it to be the best, so I just hope people will enjoy this film.

Gori Tere Pyaar Mein PosterBesides the leads, legendary actor Anupam Kher also stars in the flick, check out what he had to say!

Q: Is it true you and Kareena did not have time to shoot together?

Anupam Kher: I had already allotted dates to shoot with Kareena but unfortunately Kareena Kapoor could not make it. Now both of us have got busy.

Q: What are you working on now apart from Gori Tere Pyaar Mein

Anupam Kher: I am busy with the shooting of ‘Main Tera Hero’
