After debuting his singing career with Mumbai Rouge and Rishi Rich Productions, Asian Woman Magazine’s Bachelor of the Year, 2010, Abbas Hasan lands his first feature film!
Born in Canada and raised in France, the multi-lingual talented singer has been rocking the hearts of girls everywhere. In his new film, heart-throb-Hasan will play the role of the main character, Yaseen Mubarak, a Pakistani cricketer who travels to India with hopes to reconnect with his native roots while coaching an Indian cricket team.
“I feel honored that they picked me as the lead role for this film,” said Hasan. “but it has been hard work with early shoots starting at 6am till 10pm everyday can take its toll especially traveling to different locations throughout the eve, but without a doubt is an amazing experience am so grateful for”
The movie also stars Indian cricketers Syed Kirmani, Kapil Dev, and Robin Singh. The movie is about the power of love, friendship and humanity told through sport and set across man-made borders and boundaries. This film portrays a journey where Yaseen faces his past with the trials of his present, testing his relationships and the rules of the game.
The movie will release in April, 2011 in Malayalam, Hindi/Urdu, and Tamil but the soundtrack has been released already in February, 2011.
The movie actually sparked some international interest because of the original lead star, Pakistani cricketer and actress Veena Malik’s ex-boyfriend, Mohammad Asif. Asif was dropped from the film due to match-fixing allegations! Ouch!
Luckily Mumbai Rouge negotiated the lead role for Abbas Hasan after the controversy unveiled. Asif’s loss was Hasan’s gain, no?
