As a member of the Urban Asian team since its conception, I have a strong bond with this company. I began as Urban Asian's first writer and today I am co-editor with my partner-in-crime, Roopa Modha. It's not just work, Bollywood and Hindi TV serials are my life! And yes, I do break out randomly in song-and-dance routines. Growing up I was so shy, I was terrified of my own reflection; speeches in front of an audience tended to be followed by regurgitation, REALLY not pretty. Thankfully I've grown out of that awkward phase, (or least I like to tell my self I have.) Books are my first love. My idea of a perfect date would be a trip to the New York Public Library at Bryant Park. I've always been eccentric, I enjoy being out of the ordinary and breaking stereotypes. Honor student since birth, I graduated early from Queens College with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Psychology and now I will (hopefully) be finishing up my Masters degree in Developmental Psychology at the Teachers College of Columbia University soon. If you would like to contact me regarding movie reviews, features on our site, interviews, or just to provide some feedback I'd love to hear from you! Email me at Nila@urbanasian.com.
